The Third Celebration of Latino Alumni, “Latino Leadership: Embracing the Challenge,” was held on campus on March 2-5, 2017. Decades of Harvard Law School Latino alumni returned to the Law School for a purpose-driven call to engagement. Participants enjoyed opportunities to share experiences, learn from one another, and network.
Over 200 alumni and friends attended panel discussions and presentations, as well as a mentoring event organized by the student group La Alianza. Friday’s luncheon featured a conversation with Representative Joaquin Castro ’00, US Congressman, Texas’ 20th District, and The Honorable Julian Castro ’00, former Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. There were several keynote presentations by alumni, and Latino judges and justices were honored at Saturday’s luncheon. The weekend concluded with a gala dinner and salsa party on Saturday evening followed by a farewell brunch on Sunday.
In all, alumni enjoyed four days of engagement and reconnection with HLS.
