HLS Code of Conduct Statement

Harvard Law School and Harvard University reserve the right to suspend alumni benefits and services to and to exclude from HLS community events or campus any person whose behavior adversely affects the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of any HLS alumni, employees, students, guests or invitees.

COVID-19 Policy & University Guidance

As you prepare to come to campus, all visitors, including alumni, should be aware of the University policies in place at the time of their visit. Current COVID-19 guidance and safety practices are available here. We will adapt these policies as needed based on public health guidance; please check this page as your HLS Reunion weekend draws closer to ensure you’re aware of the current guidance.

Below are highlights of the most important COVID-19 safety requirements for guests attending Harvard Sponsored events and Gatherings.

Expectations for Attending Harvard-Sponsored Events and Gatherings

Guests are required to follow all applicable health and safety requirements imposed by federal, state, and local authorities, as well as Harvard University policies, to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19. Requirements may change as the public health situation evolves.

  • We encourage you to test before coming to campus or before attending a Harvard-sponsored event, even if you are not experiencing symptoms. Rapid antigen tests are widely available at area pharmacies.
  • If you have symptoms, no matter how mild, we ask that you do not attend the event—even if you test negative.
  • If you test positive, please do not travel to campus or attend any events. For more information, visit the Keep Harvard Healthy website
  • For indoor and crowded outdoor events, we encourage wearing a high-quality mask that fits securely without air gaps around your nose and mouth. Please be prepared that some indoor events may require masking.

Thank you for adhering to Harvard University COVID-19 safety protocols and we look forward to celebrating your reunion back on campus.

Although Harvard University has taken steps to comply with federal and state safety standards designed to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection, the University cannot guarantee that you will not contract COVID-19 while attending the event. Nor is Harvard in a position to know if you are or will be physically near to a person infected with COVID-19 at the event. Accordingly, in attending the event, you recognize that you may be subjected to potential risks of infection, illness, injury, and even death from COVID-19. You have made your own investigation of these risks, understand these risks, and assume these risks knowingly and willingly.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release Harvard, its current and former members of its governing boards, officers, faculty, staff, representatives, volunteers, employees, fellows, students, other trainees and agents, and their respective heirs and assigns, from any and all claims, losses, expenses, damages, or liabilities which you may incur or suffer, arising out of or related to your contracting COVID-19 while attending the event and resulting from any cause. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (excluding its conflict of laws principles), which shall be the forum for any lawsuits filed under or incident to this document.

The HLS Alumni Relations Office will also provide COVID-19 updates as needed for the Fall Reunion Weekend.
