Lockers in a long hallway

Returning jd22 Students who had a locker assignment for 2019-2020…have been reassigned their original locker, which has already been finalized. You can view your combination on the Student Life Portal starting August 10th.

Students who did not previously have a locker assignment in 2019-2022… can log on to select or change their locker assignment starting on August 10th. Students will have access to their combination and can begin using their lockers as of August 20th. Locker assignments cannot be changed for new locker students after combinations are issued on August 20th. Students without a locker assignment can continue to log on and select a locker after August 20th, but their locker assignment will be finalized once selected as they will immediately be given their locker combination.

Harvard Law School has a number of lockers lining the walls in the basement corridors that connect the main buildings on campus. They are self-selected on a first come, first served basis to law school students living off of the HLS campus proper (including students who live in North Hall, 1637 Mass Ave, 3/5 Mellen St). Students who live in law school dormitories on the HLS campus proper–specifically, Hastings Hall and Gropius Complex–are not eligible for lockers. Please contact the Dean of Students Office with questions.

Lockers are self-selected and based only on availability. If you have selected a 2-person locker and would like to share with a specific other student, please make sure that the other student also self-selects into the same locker. Each double locker can be selected twice. The Dean of Students Office no longer assigns lockers to students on their behalf.

If you require a locker in a specific location because of a documented disability and are unable to select a locker that meets your needs in the available online inventory, please contact HLS Student Support Services at

Please visit our webpage on August 1oth to select your locker
