Mekonnen Firew Ayano

Mekonnen Firew Ayano is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Harvard University’s Center for African Studies where he studies law and development with a focus on land and agricultural policies in Sub-Saharan Africa. Mekonnen received SJD degree from Harvard Law School (2016), LL.M. degree from the American University in Cairo, and LL.B. degree from Addis Ababa University. His previous experience includes working as a legal counsel for the World Bank, as a judge in Ethiopia, and as a lecturer at Addis Ababa University. Mekonnen’s research interest includes law and development, legal theory, property, and land and agricultural development policies.
