Join the Brazilian Studies Association and the International Law Journal for a discussion on the role of supreme courts and constitutional courts in contemporary democracies. The two participants will be Professor Mark Tushnet, William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, and Justice Luis Roberto Barroso, Tenured Professor of Constitutional Law at the Rio de Janeiro State University, who currently serves on the Brazilian Supreme Court. The talk is relevant for all students interested in the phenomena of judicial activism.
