The rise of automation, AI, and robotics will not only displace human workers in many fields, but will also displace major sources of tax revenue (such as income and employment taxes). In response, policymakers in the United States and around the world have proposed a “robot tax” as a way to ameliorate job losses and recover the lost tax revenues. This talk by Rob Kovacev, Partner at Steptoe & Johnson, will discuss various robot tax proposals and the difficulties in designing and administering robot taxes.

Non-pizza lunch will be provided.
