In this talk, Prof. Hongliu Gong would share her view on the special “Chinese flavor” added by China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) into today’s global governance. Special attentions will be given to the unique status of the Communist Party, the leading role of Chinese judiciary, and the expansion of investment treaties and free trade agreements facilitated by BRI. Prof. Gong will also explore the possibility of utilizing BIR to ease the tension in US-China relation and enhance rule of law at home and globally.
