Classes of 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979 and the Emeritus Club

Over 560 alumni and guests returned to Cambridge October 24-26 for our Fall Reunion Weekend 2014, bringing together the Harvard Law School classes of 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, and the Emeritus Club, to celebrate with classmates and friends. During the Reunion, alumni engaged in an exciting selection of lectures, panels, receptions, dinners, and tours.

Reunion Weekend began with class visitations and tours of the new Wasserstein Hall, Caspersen Student Center, Clinical Wing building (WCC), followed by a lively and enlightening keynote by Richard J. Lazarus ’79, Howard and Katherine Aibel Professor of Law, on “Hiding in Plain Sight: Revising Supreme Court Opinions (After Initial Publication).” Saturday featured individual class symposia, a conversation with Dean Martha Minow on challenges and opportunities, past and present, at HLS, and an engaging luncheon conversation with Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer ’64. Attendees also enjoyed class dinners, class photos, a gathering of the 1817 Society, and the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and enjoy the Law School’s new Courtyard. On both days, alumni listened to wide-ranging panel discussions featuring HLS faculty, students, and alumni. These sessions focused on corporate governance, the creation of the civil rights lawyer, health care, bioethics and biotechnology, environmental law, investing in challenging times, the library and digital scholarship, and much more.
