Stuart Rossman ’78 is Director of Litigation at the National Consumer Law Center, Boston, MA and his daughter, Jessie Rossman ’07 is Staff Attorney for the ACLU of Michigan. Stuart has been a great help to the Bernard Koteen Office of Public Interest Advising (OPIA) in a number of ways, including participation in the mock interview program for students. In addition to volunteering, he has recruited a number of other local public service employers to come to HLS to give students pointers on job interviews.

Stuart was instrumental in helping recent graduate Jason Green-Lowe ’10 find permanent employment with private public interest law firm Kemnitzer, Barron & Krieg in San Francisco.

During law school, Jason worked in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, the United States Attorney’s Office in Boston, and in the Predatory Lending group of HLS’s WilmerHale Legal Services Center. Jason found consumer advocacy particularly interesting and made it a focus of his 3L search for a position after graduation. OPIA suggested that Jason speak to Stuart to find out more about practice and opportunities in consumer advocacy. Shortly after their meeting, Stuart received a call from a colleague at Kemnitzer, Barron & Krieg looking for suggestions to fill a new attorney opening. Stuart put Jason in touch with the firm and Jason landed a job he is thrilled to have.
