You may satisfy the Requirement through either:
A research paper written either (a) in conjunction with an HLS course, seminar or workshop, with the instructor as the faculty supervisor, or (b) as an independent paper under the supervision of an HLS faculty member. You will earn writing credits for your Option 1 paper.
Two shorter pieces of writing, one of which must be faculty supervised. In addition to qualifying papers written for HLS courses or seminars, many different types of student writing may satisfy this second option, including moot court briefs, law journal pieces, and clinical writing. In satisfying Option 2, you generally do not register for or earn additional credits beyond those earned for regular coursework.
