The Natural Resources Defense Council is seeking a current third-year law student or recent law graduate to apply for an Equal Justice Works Fellowship. The fellow-applicant would craft a proposal (with guidance from NRDC attorneys) to work in our environmental defense initiative on fighting proposed regulatory rollback efforts by Congress and the Trump Administration. Areas of focus of the project could include defending common-sense regulatory safeguards, ensuring regulatory transparency and open government, and fighting so-called “regulatory reform.” Possible strategies available to the fellow would be: litigation, legislative advocacy, coalition building within the broader advocacy community, and policy analysis and advocacy. The fellowship would be based in NRDC’s Washington, DC office, and the position remains subject to internal approval procedures.
Applicants should be prepared to complete the Equal Justice Works application (including securing letters of recommendations) by the deadline in late September. To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and a brief legal writing sample to firstname.lastname@example.org with “EJW Application” in the subject line.
