This seminar will focus primarily on the work of the UN treaty bodies, especially the Human Rights Committee (of which Prof. Neuman is currently a member). The seminar is required for LL.M. students in the LL.M. human rights concentration. It is also open to selected J.D. students with advanced training in human rights, by permission of the instructor. Auditing will not be permitted.
The seminar will meet six times each semester, in two-hour sessions. Grading will be based
on class participation and a series of short reaction papers.
